Many students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are eager to share their thoughts and ideas with the world. 1789 Venture Lab was founded four years ago by serial entrepreneur and UNC entrepreneur-in-residence Jim Kitchen as an incubator lab to help students make those ideas a reality. The facility is free to all UNC students, giving them a place to work on their businesses, to collaborate and nurture one another’s ideas. Since 2013, Launch Chapel Hill has worked with a diversity of startups in Chapel Hill with a small staff. That changed this summer with the addition of two UNC Chapel Hill alumni to the team running the business-building programming. Callie Brauel and Stefano Rivera, both UNC alumni, join Dina Rousset to update the curriculum based on Disciplined Entrepreneurship by Bill Aulet. Neither is new to the entrepreneurial hustle.
