Google Fiber expands Triangle service to Brier Creek

Google Fiber is expanding its ultra-fast Internet and entertainment network in the Triangle, now taking service orders in the Brier Creek area of northwest Raleigh near Raleigh Durham International Airport. Brier Creek becomes the third area where Google Fiber access is available. Sign-ups will be offered through May 25, according to an announcement made Tuesday. Parts of North Hills and Morrisville also have service. Google Fiber says it has resumed taking orders in Morrisville. Google Fiber begins offering ultra-fast Internet, phone and TV service in Raleigh’s North Hills as of Wednesday. Google Fiber, which recently paused its nation-wide expansion plans, is adding new markets again. But this time it’s through high-speed point-to-point service called Webpass. The head of Google Fiber is stepping down and GF is halting plans to expand to other cities.
