RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Get Spiffy disclosed today that it has raised an additional $10 million for its Series B fundraising round, on top of the $22 million the company previously announced.

The new funds come from Edison Partners, a growth equity firm.

“Spiffy has grown into a formidable leader within the mobile car care industry – making it easier for both consumer and fleet clientele to save time with truly convenient services, something we have seen gain exponential value coming out of the pandemic,” said Lenard Marcus, General Partner at Edison Partners, in a statement shared with WRAL TechWire.  “We’ve enjoyed watching their team consistently rise to overcome new challenges for their customers and look forward to supporting their continued growth in the months and years ahead.”

According to the company, the capital raised from the Series B round will enable it to expand geographically across the top metropolitan statistical areas in the United States.

The company may also extend its service offerings, including expanding its newest product that it launched earlier this month.  The product, Smart Tumbler™, is a rechargeable device that fits inside of a vehicles cupholder and removes odors.

Expansion plans

To meet demand, the company plans to hire additional employees, including between 10 and 20 people in the coming months, said Scot Wingo, the company’s co-founder and CEO, in an email to WRAL TechWire earlier this week.

“I’ve been quoted a lot over the last few years saying vehicles are going to change more in the next 10 years than they have in the last 110, and we are really seeing those drastic shifts now throughout the automotive industry,” said Wingo.  “We’re poised to expand our vision for the next level of scale.”

The company announced it had expanded to additional markets, including Wilmington, North Carolina, earlier this year.  The company franchises operations and runs some of its expansion markets from corporate headquarters in the Triangle.
