CORNELIUS – Plant-based meat startup Barvecue is finding investors have a taste for the company’s prospects.

The company has raised $600,000 in a mix of debt and securities from three investors, according to an SEC filing.

And the firm has set its sights on raising $2 million in allo.

Barvecue’s barbecue products are available nationwide in part due to to an expansion into 360 Sprouts Farmers Market locations that was announced in September of 2021.

Each of the 360 Sprouts locations will carry the company’s Pulled BVQ product, which is a pre-sauced, gluten-free, plant-based barbecue product, that will appear in the frozen section.

Sprouts is headquartered in Arizona, and has two Triangle locations, one in South Durham and one in North Raleigh.
