$15M Marcus Foundation grant boosts cord blood research at Duke

Duke University has received a $15 million grant from The Marcus Foundation for research focused on umbilical cord blood cells to treat autism, stroke and other neurological disorders. The foundation, started by Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus in 1989, is dedicated to funding research in these fields, and has also provided funding to City of Hope, Piedmont Hospital, and Emory University, among others.
