As Hurricane Florence swept to and through North Carolina last week, planned events and activities were placed on hold as the state braced for a major natural disaster. Several events spanning North Carolina were announced cancelled or postponed as the storm headed our way.

Join Entrepalooza to check out the latest innovative projects, ventures and initiatives being launched at NC State. The event was rescheduled to September 20 early last week.

Case Study: How to Accelerate Growth, Scale to Optimize Profitability & Maximize Value @Gaston College Kimbrell Campus

This event offers the audience a profile on the journey of Rhino Assembly, which grew from a firm of 10 people to 120+ in just four years. It has been rescheduled from September 18 to September 25 due to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence, say organizers.

CompTIA AITP RTP Chapter: So You’ve Been Hacked—Now What? @Lenovo Development Drive Campus, Building 8

CompTIA AITP RTP Chapter is hosting a program to provide insight on the effects of security breaches and remediation of the damage after they occur. Organizers alerted the community last week that the event would be rescheduled to September 26.

Local Tech Day @The Loading Dock

DNA Group and ACES North America are presenting a trade show-style expo at Loading Dock and following happy hour at Lynwood Brewing Concern. It has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 27. All other details will remain the same.

City Startup Labs 5th Anniversary Celebration @Grace on Brevard

City Startup Labs is hosting a special celebration of its 5th class of entrepreneurs and innovators in Charlotte. The event includes a “where-are-they-now” segment featuring City Startup Labs alums, a silent auction, live music, spoken word, video profiles, presentations and more. Organizers announced that this event has been rescheduled to September 28 at the same time.

A New Mission: Military Women As Entrepreneurs 2018 Conference @Goodwill Opportunity Campus

Organized by the Small Business Center at Central Piedmont Community College and the Women’s Business Center of North Carolina, this free annual event features networking, expert speakers and resources for women veterans, active duty personnel and military spouses. Organizers announced that the event will be postponed until October 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

NC Tech Talk Live: Executive Conversation @MetLife, Cary

At this NC TECH-hosted event, MetLife Chief Digital Officer Greg Baxter will share the story of the company’s digital transformation. NC TECH has now rescheduled the event to October 16.

Entrinsicon @Crabtree Marriott Hotel

Through this event, Entrinsik provides cost-effective and in-depth Informer and Enrole training for developers to remain up-to-date with the latest upgrades coming from Entrinsik. The new dates for the conference will be February 11-13, 2019.

The Muster RDU @MetLife Global Technology Campus

The Muster RDU convenes hundreds of attendees for a full day of business pitches, keynotes, workshops, panels and a startup marketplace—all for and by veteran-led startups and veteran entrepreneurs. According to Bunker Labs, The Muster RDU has been rescheduled to March 14, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Read the full notice on Eventbrite.

This networking event promises connections with professionals and organizations across Greensboro. Organizers will be rescheduling later this year.

CED Tech Conference 2018 @Raleigh Convention Center

The Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s flagship annual conference planned its 34th-year return with 25+ company presentations, a demo showcase, investor reverse pitches, several investment funds in attendance, and much more in store. CED is planning to reschedule the event to early 2019. An exact date will be announced soon.

SPARKcon in Raleigh

The Triangle’s open-source creativity festival features over 200 events separated into categories that represent every art form, from performances, to showcases to interactive games. Organizers announced the event was postponed early last week. They haven’t set a reschedule date yet. Stay tuned for updates.

Making Connections: Lifting as We Climb @HQ Greensboro

This free event will address the ways to further diversify workplaces and communities. Panelists include Joe Bryant II of VF Corporation, Anna Cushman of Chapman Law, Ivey Ghee of Hospitality G, Jose Sandoval of synerG, Michael Truong of BB&T, and Justin Outling of Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard (moderator). The event was postponed due to the weather last week. A new date has not yet been set.

32nd Annual Plant Molecular Biology Retreat @Holiday Inn Resort, Wrightsville Beach

This annual weekend event includes research lectures, keynotes, networking and informal “chalk talks” from academic and corporate associates in the plant molecular biology field. The 2018 Retreat in Wrightsville was cancelled due to Hurricane Florence. The PMB steering committee is working on a plan to reschedule the retreat and they’ll update all attendees with that information soon.

Fall 2018 Emerging Issues Forum @Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville

The theme for the next Emerging Issues Forum is “ReCONNECT to Community: Increasing Civic Engagement and Dialogue.” It will highlight the different strategies that can be used to engage and connect citizens across the state. Due to the impact of Hurricane Florence, the September 17 Reconnect to Community Forum was postponed last week. Organizers will reschedule to a new date, to be announced soon.
