The Council for Entrepreneurial Development has cancelled the CED Tech Conference set for this week in Raleigh due to the approach of Hurricane Florence.

The CED plans to reschedule the event for early next year.

Here is the email sent late Monday afternoon by Ravila Gupta, the CED’s president and CEO.

“On behalf of the CED Team and Conference Co-chairs, I would like to thank you for your investment and support of the 2018 CED Tech Conference.  Due the impending approach of Hurricane Florence (Category 4) to the North Carolina coast, we have decided to reschedule this week’s event.  With the safety of our attendees in mind, we feel that this is the best decision for everyone.

“The CED Tech Conference is unique in its ability to attract attendees from across the country, secure thought leaders within the Tech Industry to present to our audience, and showcase the state’s most noteworthy ventures that are quickly gaining traction in our region.  This decision was not taken lightly, however it is imperative that the decision be made early enough to ensure that those who are traveling have the time to make the proper arrangements.

“Here’s the good news.  The CED team has already begun preparations to move the event to an early 2019 date.  Your registrations and sponsorship will automatically transfer to the new dates, which we plan to release by the end of the month.

“Thank you in advance for your understanding.  It is CED’s mission to provide a quality experience for everyone in attendance and we plan to deliver that in the very near future.”
