RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Despite layoffs at Red Hat and Lenovo, many top Triangle companies are hiring in tech, with almost 2,500 job openings among them, according to TechWire’s exclusive jobs report.

Across the wider job market in the Triangle, job openings hit historic lows this week, with just 263,862 opportunities currently available (not taking into post duplications), down 26% compared to this time last year.

But despite this overall decrease in job openings across the Triangle this week, these top local companies have managed to hold steady, collectively experiencing just a 0.2% decline from last week.

Red Hat made headlines for layoffs yesterday, but data tracked for TechWire’s jobs report showed that the company website still has 12 local openings listed.

 

Triangle’s startup scene shows signs of slowdown, with almost 13% drop in job postings
