CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte-based private equity firm Falfurrias Capital Partners is investing in a Charlotte firm, Training The Street, also known as TTS, a provider of educational resources for today’s financial professionals.

Falfurrias Capital Partners, which was cofounded in 2006 by Hugh McColl, Jr. the former chair and CEO of Bank of America, and Marc Oaken, former CEO of Bank of America, shared in a statement that it has raised about $1 billion in four different funds, and invests in growing, middle-market businesses.

“TTS will have access to increased capital to help our clients succeed in a fast-changing business and competitive environment,” said Scott Rostan, founder and CEO of Training the Street, in a statement.  “The goal of our partnership with FCP is to scale and build solutions to better serve a marketplace that is being transformed by technology and changing business needs.”

Training The Street provides courses in accounting, asset management, capital markets, and financial modeling, and its clients include investment banks, financial institutions, government agencies, business schools, and some colleges, providing in-person live and virtual training programs for about 200 clients.

Oken will serve on the Training The Street board of directors.  Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
