As Monday morning rolls in, we’re providing TechWire readers with a quick recap of the past week’s news headlines.

Notable news stories from last week included: Durham’s American Tobacco Campus is expanding to include a new 700,000-square-foot mixed-use project; President Donald Trump and Mike Pence visited the Triangle and met with local leaders in the race to develop a COVID-19 vaccine – Trump visited Morrisville’s Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies and Pence visited the NCBiotech Center to meet researchers working on vaccine clinical trials; the Mars 2020 Rover, which launched Thursday, includes eight components made in Durham. Also, a few NC companies landed new funding last week, including Winston Salem-based EncepHeal Therapeutics (National Institutes of Health grant) and Charlotte-based Catapult HQ ($1.7 million).
