CHARLOTTE – “Everybody in the Carolinas should have AT&T.” So declares PCMag after its latest tests of wireless performance in the Queen City region.

AT&T outperformed Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile in virtually every category, winning with a performance score of 96 with 100 being a perfect score.

“AT&T leapt ahead of its competitors this year, showing an average download speed that’s double (!) what we saw from the other carriers,” writes Sascha Segan.

“AT&T is clearly best positioned for the 5G revolution here. The company has already launched its 5G network for enterprise and developer use in Charlotte. We expect it will become public soon, and it will be joined by Verizon’s 5G network later this year,” he adds.

This is the latest in 10 years of testing by PCMag, which says it is the last that will focus on 4G as 5G enters the market.
