BURLINGTON — The CEO of LabCorp, a Burlington-based life sciences company, was paid $12.26 million in total compensation in 2018, up approximately $600,000 from his compensation of $11.65 million in 2017.

David King has served as CEO at LabCorp since 2007. He previously served as chief operating officer.

Before working at the company, he was a partner at Baltimore law firm Hogan & Hartson where he was the outside legal counsel for Labcorp.

A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Friday shows King’s salary increased from $1.15 million in 2017 to $1.18 million in 2018.

He received $7.5 million in 2018 in stock awards, up about 11 percent from $6.75 million in 2017. His nonqualified stock options increased about 15 percent from $1.58 million to $1.82 million

In 2018, King received $1.58 million in nonequity incentive plan compensation, down about 19 percent from $1.96 million in 2017.

The base salary of Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Samuel Eberts III increased about 6 percent to $530,000 from $502,125 .

Labcorp’s annual meeting will be held online on May 9.

Shares of Lapcorp were trading at $152.09 at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, up $1.47 from its close on Thursday.
