Note: We published this guide recently as part of our continued coverage of the Triangle startup and small business economy.

We later updated the guide with some new additions, and even more updates have been made today.

The latest updates include a few extra bullet points about Duke University’s startup programs, some additions to the resources category, several additional coworking spaces to the startup incubators map, and more expansions in other sections of the guide.

We will be expanding this project to other startup metros throughout North Carolina starting later this month. Future iterations of the series will cover Charlotte, the Triad, Wilmington/eastern North Carolina and Asheville/western N.C.. Stay tuned for more.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Last summer, ExitEvent published an interactive 101-style guide to the Triangle startup community before the publication merged with WRAL TechWire. The guide was meant to be a gateway into the world of startup for twenty-something or student innovators and creatives interested in launching their own ventures here in the Triangle.

The piece quickly racked up thousands of views and plenty of engagement from the Triangle startup ecosystem. Now, just over a year later, TechWire Editor Rick Smith and I have decided to revive the project—adding the programs, facilities and events that have launched or grown over the past 15 months.

The table of contents includes free events and meetups, membership organizations, accelerators and mentorship programs, VC and angel groups, grants and pitch challenges, and more resources for folks interested in starting a company in the Triangle.

In addition to the guide, we’ve added an interactive “Triangle Startup Spaces” map spotlighting the coworking facilities, launch labs and incubators serving the local startup community:
