ExitEvent will no longer provide news coverage, starting in November. Much of the startup content it provided will move to WRAL TechWire, including past articles. TechWire, which is also owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company, will bring down its paywall and unveil a mobile-first design later this fall.
ExitEvent’s popular entrepreneur-only socials will continue through the rest of the year, with more updates coming for 2018. Make sure to sign up for the newsletter to stay in the loop for updates.
Over the past four years, Exit Event’s expanded coverage of the startup scene around North Carolina has furthered our region’s position as a top startup hub. We believed this quality content would position ExitEvent for a sustainable, if not break even operation, but after nearly four years of trying that has not materialized. This is the challenge of operating a niche media site focused on local storytelling.
