DURHAM – IDEA Fund Partners is expanding its venture and operating partner program with the addition of Katherine Manuel, senior vice president of innovation at Thompson Reuters.

The early-stage venture fund says Manuel is “an executive and change-agent who enacts successful strategies and restructures to promote organic growth.”

IDEA Fund said its venture and operating partners work with it to assist and grow its portfolio companies using their experience.

Other operating partners include David Jones, founder of Charlotte-based Peak 10, and Chris Halligan, co-founder of OtherScreen, Kieden and JigSaw. He also is chief operating officer and an investor in Charlotte-based Payzer.

Manuel is helping Thompson Reuters with partnerships and key growth opportunities. She has been with the company for more than a decade, holding positions in its legal and accounting businesses and leading its technology strategy and enterprise architecture for healthcare and science.

She earned an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
