Sentinel Data Centers, a data center operator that focuses providing service to large businesses, announced that tw telecom (NASDAQ:TWTC) will extend its network into the Durham Sentinel data center is currently under construction.

New York-based Sentinel chose Durham to build its $200 million, 420,000 square-foot-facility after receiving as much as $800,000 in incentives from Durham County. The massive site covering 29 acres is expected to be North Carolina’s first large-footprint, multi-tenant data center. Construction began late last year.

The extension of tw telecom’s fiber network will expand options for Sentinel’s customers for regional and national network connectivity, Sentinel said. The connections through tw telecom will make it easier for Sentinel customers to connect to other cities in North Carolina.
