Mark Heesen, president of the National Venture Capital Association, is coming to the Triangle this week to provide an overview of the VC industry in the wake of November’s elections.

The CED is hosting the event.

“The elections and policies coming out of Washington could have a profound impact on the venture and entrepreneurial communities in 2013 and beyond,” the CED says. “Mark … will discuss the state of the venture industry nationally as well as in North Carolina. He will elaborate on how the recent elections will affect venture fundraising, investment and exits going forward.”

While the event is geared specifically for entrepreneurs and venture investors, the session will be open to the general public and “anyone interested in learning more about the current state of venture capital, the major trends within the industry, and entrepreneurship.”
