NewHope Bariatrics, a provider of surgical and treatment services for obese people, has launched a new Web site for patients.

The site includes obesity diagnostic tools, a forum for discussions among patients and prospective patients and a blog by Carole Guinane, the company’s chief clinical officer.

Also available are patient case studies, video footage of bariatric surgery and interviews with bariatric surgeons.

“One of our primary responsibilities is to deliver information to current and prospective patients so they can make an informed decision about the right treatment option to help them lose dangerous weight in order to get and stay healthy,” David Crane, NewHope Bariatrics’ chief executive officer, said in a prepared statement.

“We know the Internet is a preferred educational source, and we want to facilitate that by delivering a user-friendly, content-rich and action-oriented Web site," Crane added. "It’s about getting weight-loss information to the people who need it – in whatever format they want – to help them live healthier, happier lives.”

NewHope Bariatrics operates ambulatory surgery centers and short-stay hospitals for bariatric surgery.
