Four North Carolina and three Georgia institutions cracked the latest best schools for entrepreneurs from Fortune Small Business.

Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and Western Carolina were selected from North Carolina.

Georgia schools making the list included Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State and Savannah College of Art and Design.

The list was based on surveys and research conducted by parents, the magazine said.

“Our listings (in alphabetical order) are the result of seven months of interviews with hundreds of entrepreneurs, professors, students, alumni, university administrators, and venture capitalists,” the magazine said. “We asked each of our sources to tell us which programs they considered to be the most innovative and effective, and why. While a classroom may not teach you how to become a risk-taking visionary, it can provide the business skills that help hasten success.”
