RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Taproot Systems, a developer of telephone software, is launching a new product at the 3GSM World Congress in Spain this week.

Taproot is working with Azimuth Systems, a provider of automated test equipment, in unveiling a testing program for dual-mode mobile phones. The phones operate both over cellular and wireless fidelity (WiFi) networks.

The TapRoot product works with the Azimuth hardware platform and certification software. Together, the products are designed to help mobile phone vendors accelerate certification from the WiFi alliance for their products.

TapRoot’s software supports mobile phone operating systems such as Symbian, Microsoft Windows Mobile and Linux Mobile.
