Durham-based Eco-Site, which is deploying wireless infrastructure across the United States, says it has drawn down the final $20 million of its original $80 million in financing to help fuel the company’s continued growth.

“The Eco-Site story is a successful one, as we’ve worked diligently to grow the business and make our vision of unique wireless network solutions a reality,” said Dale Carey, founder and CEO of Eco-Site. “This round of funding has enabled us to capitalize on market opportunities and lay a strong foundation for years to come.”

Eco-Site launched in 2012.

The company has grown to more than 45 employees and is involved in “hundreds of wireless infrastructure projects,” Eco-Site says.

Eco-Site’s headquarters is based in Durham.

Atlanta-based MSouth Equity Partners has provided the funding.

“Just as we envisioned years ago, Eco-Site has taken advantage of the wireless industry’s growth, specifically the increasing demand for wireless bandwidth and network densification solutions,” said Barry Boniface, partner at MSouth Equity Partners, in a statement. “We’re pleased with the results of our investment in Eco-Site and look forward to building
on their success thus far.”

Eco-Site develops developing communications sites in so-called “brownfield” and blighted properties in “tightly congested” metropolitan markets.

“We are launching a new model for wireless infrastructure that capitalizes on a unique convergence of market opportunities,” Carey said when the company launched.

“We will buy and remediate the real estate, build an urban micro-cell while also providing backhaul and backup generator services. We believe this comprehensive package offers a unique solution for wireless carriers.”

Carey is a longtime wireless industry executive.
