The deal TherapyEdge closed with the government of Nigeria this week should be worth more than $1 million to the company, president and chief executive officer Joe Sollee says.
Sollee, who is at the International AIDS conference in Barcelona, Spain, says Therapy Edge will aid Nigeria in managing AIDS patients and several infectious diseases with its treatment option software and human expertise.
TherapyEdge followed its announcement of the Nigerian deal Wednesday with another Thursday saying the International Association of Physicians in AIDS care (IAPAC), has endorsed TherapyEdge HIV. IAPAC represents over 12,000 physicians and other healthcare professionals in 89 countries.
The TherapyEdge product is a Web-based, point-of-care decision support system. It graphically tracks a patient’s status, including medical conditions, medications, test results, drug efficacy and toxicity data and more.
“The play we’re getting over here from the two announcements has been enormous,” Sollee says. “In the context of the world AIDS conference, the two of them are proof of concept for our company in the international arena.”
He says the Nigerian deal is a “large, long-term, comprehensive partnership with the government.” The IAPAC endorsement, he says, will introduce a large number of countries to Therapy Edge business.
