Paul Weisenfeld is an experienced leader in international development with over 30 years of expertise. At RTI International, Weisenfeld serves as a key figure, leading the organization's international development practice and overseeing Government Relations and Corporate Communications. His commitment to using science and knowledge to improve lives globally drives his valuable contributions to both RTI and the field of international development.

Before joining RTI, Weisenfeld headed the Bureau for Food Security at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He held numerous other leadership positions at USAID during his more than 20 years there, including Mission Director in Peru and Zimbabwe. He served in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Weisenfeld's experience spans the international development sector and includes food security, agriculture, nutrition, health, education, climate resilience, environmental protection, and economic growth. The international development team that he leads at RTI manages projects in more than 80 countries.

Weisenfeld is a respected leader and sought-after speaker and advisor in his field. He is currently chair of USAID’s Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACVFA), serves on the board of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, is a member of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation’s (DFC) Development Advisory Council, and is on the Steering Committee of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network. He holds an honorary Doctorate in Public Administration from Monmouth College, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a B.A. from Queens College of the City University of New York.
