Progress Energy, Nissan, Advanced Energy back electric vehicle charging network
A three-way partnership has been formed between Nissan, Raleigh-based Progress Energy and Raleigh-based nonprofit Advanced Energy. The coalition seeks to facilitate the development of an electric vehicle (EV) charging network. The May 1 announcement is part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s zero-emission mobility initiative. Nissan plans to introduce zero-emission vehicles in the United States in 2010, starting with a 5-passenger compact vehicle that will have a range of 100 miles on a single charge.
