Electric vehicle maker VinFast announced on Monday that it was establishing a separate company to set up a network of charging stations worldwide.

V-Green Global Charging Station Development Company (V-Green) will begin by sourcing land and partners to establish and expand its charging network in key markets around the world.

In Vietnam, V-Green will be responsible for operating and managing VinFast’s existing charging network. V-Green will additionally invest $10 trillion VND (approximately $404 million) over the next two years to build new stations, upgrade and complete its existing network.

VinFast has already announced expansion plans for its vehicle manufacturing, including building a plant in Chatham County expected to produce up to 150,000 electric vehicles annually by the end of 2025.
