Feb. 6 marks Safer Internet Day worldwide, a day to consider the positive possibilities of connectivity and to learn about how to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

Schools and families across the United States will engage in events and lessons that tackle topics as varied as sexting and hate speech, misinformation and secure passwords and the basics of safety — both physical and emotional — on social media platforms.

The group behind Safer Internet Day offers print-and-save guides for age groups from toddlers to senior citizens. Teachers can download lesson plans for any age group on the use of generative AI, staying cybersecure and taking care with facts and the feelings of others while sharing online information.
