More news and information for entrepreneurs to use in building and growing businesses is available from WRAL TechWire as we continue to make additions to our Triangle Startup Guide.

Also, be sure to check out our extensive calendar listings for December and January, plus our meetups list – all linked at the bottom of this post.

Every Monday, we’re sharing a digest of the changes and additions we make to the Triangle Startup Guide.

Here’s a quick summary of what we did last week:

  • We updated the inspiration/advice/more resources section with a link to David Gardner’s column from last week about startup board oversight.
  • Another new addition to the inspiration/advice/more resources section is this list of business resources compiled by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, which includes information about business incentives, available resource space, reports, plans and publications, and more resources for new businesses or existing businesses that want to relocate to downtown Raleigh.
  • We also added Duke University’s Student Founders Program to the accelerators/mentorship programs page. The Duke Student Founders Program provides experiential education, mentoring, community, resources and even grants to individuals who are interested in creating a product or service, testing a pilot and someday launching their own startup. Applications for the next round are due January 22.

Is there something you think the guide is missing? Feel free to send me an email or tweet me (@ShannonCuthrell) your suggestions and feedback.

If you’re interested in keeping up with the latest local events, check out our two-part list of December events in the Triangle and in other regions across North Carolina. We also have a guide to upcoming holiday events.

Each week we also break out events coming up “on the horizon” a month out – such as our January calendar listings.

We’ve also put together a list of over 100 Triangle meetups.

These columns accompany our interactive calendar, which is updated every few days with new events held across North Carolina.
