Raleigh-Durham Startup Week moved to downtown Raleigh on Thursday with a full day of workshops, keynotes and special events.

The Big Ideas Raleigh Meetup, organized by the City of Raleigh Office of Strategy and Innovation, introduced that office to the startup community and unveiled the City of Raleigh’s strategic plan. A diverse mix of community members, startups and local businesses gathered to share ideas on city initiatives and explore groundbreaking solutions to Raleigh’s most pressing challenges.

One of the day’s highlights was a Q&A and keynote presentation with Allen Mask, an investment Partner at WestCap, a global growth equity firm. Mask shared the lessons he learned from working in marketing, partnerships and R&D for companies like Sonos, and as a the head of product marketing for Airbnb.

Workshops were also held throughout the day at Raleigh Founded’s North Street location.

Topics ranged from How to Get Your First 100 Customers to How to Build a High Performing Team, and Scaling Your Buinesss to $100 Million and Beyond.

Raleigh Durham Startup Week’s final day is Friday, April 11, at the Raleigh Founded offices in Raleigh. Sessions start in the afternoon, and will cover the basics of a good investor pitch, life inside a high-growth startup, and how to engage the right investors.
