RALEIGH – Layoffs are hitting again in North Carolina with more than 200 workers to lose their jobs at a distribution center in High Point.

National Distribution Center is closing an operation as of Dec. 31, according to a layoff notice filed with the state of North Carolina.

A total of 217 workers will be affected, the notice says.

More than 8,600 workers have been affected in 95 layoff notices filed so far this year.

That’s more than double the 4,204 workers affected across 42 notices in 2022.
