RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – On demand vehicle maintenance provider Get Spiffy is rolling out a new tire inspection technology, responding to growing demand for “more visual communication in auto repairs.”

Announced Thursday, the tech is called “Easy Tread.” It’s the latest addition to a growing variety of services available from the Triangle based company.

CEO Scot Wingo explains what the new service is all about:

“Easy Tread is a hyper-accurate and reliable tool for delivering swift tire inspections, measuring tread depth, and providing in-depth wear analysis in under 30 seconds. Unlike traditional measurement techniques, Easy Tread captures over 500,000 data points for a ‘mesh’ image, accurate to ~0.25 millimeter with resolution to 0.01mm. It’s a solution that empowers car owners with visual data, making auto repair services transparent like never before.
“Our vision for Easy Tread has been affirmed by evolving customer expectations for more visual communication in auto repairs, as highlighted in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Customer Service Index (CSI) Study. The study found that customers who receive photo or video updates are three times more likely to approve recommended work. Easy Tread aims to bolster customer trust with stronger visual communication from mechanics and service shops, resulting in a better customer experience to drive fixed ops revenue.”
The privately held startup raised $30 million in new capital earlier this year.
