CHARLOTTE – Alo, a Durham-based healthcare company supporting independent physician groups, agreed to buy Davidson Family Medicine in Davidson, expanding Alo’s network of Charlotte-area practices affiliated with the Avance Care brand.

Alo provides back-office services to help independent-owned physician groups compete against larger networks owned by hospital systems and national healthcare companies. It works with more than 30 provider groups that offer care to more than 100,000 people.

Terms were not disclosed.

Davidson Family Medicine, which formed in 2001, has 11 clinicians, including physicians, physician assistants and family nurse practitioners. The lead physician is Dr. Craig White.

It will operate under its current name as a wholly owned subsidiary of Alo Medical Group, and join the Alo Clinically Integrated Network.

“Avance Care and Alo have a shared mission to enable independent physicians to operate financially strong practices that deliver the best possible care,” says Alo CEO Matt Eirich.
