RALEIGH – Vietnam-based manufacturer VinFast is going to work with global chip giant Nvidia and will build three new crossovers at its electrical vehicle manufacturing plant being built in Chatham County, according to media reports.

Auto News says the company has decided to build its VF 7, VF 8 and the large VF 9 model in Chatham County.

Production is expected to begin in 2025.

Meanwhile, Nvidia and VinFast’s parent company have struck a deal involving artificial intelligence following a meeting of US trade officials and President Biden along with others in the Biden administration in Hanoi, according to Reuters

In another deal, Charlotte-based Honeywell has committed to a pilot project for a battery energy storage system in Vietnam, Reuters added.
