CHARLOTTE – State and federal leaders are optimistic a proposed passenger rail corridor from Wilmington to Raleigh will gain federal funding when grants are announced in two months.
In March, the North Carolina Department of Transportation submitted 12 new corridor proposals to the Federal Railroad Administration’s Corridor Identification and Development Program.
