CHARLOTTE – PowerHouse wants to build a 2.5-million-square-foot data center on more than 130 acres in University City. But the Charlotte City Council staff is declining to endorse the project over noise concerns.
PowerHouse is a subsidiary of the DC-based firm AREP.
The center expects to employ 15-30 people with an average salary of $134,000.
