RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Drug giants GSK and Pfizer, both with a significant presence in North Carolina, are in a legal battle now over respiratory virus vaccines that received FDA approval in May.

GSK sued on Wednesday, accusing Pfizer of violating four patents.

“Upon information and belief, Pfizer knowingly uses GSK’s claimed inventions in Abrysvo without permission,” GSK wrote in its suit, CNBC noted.

Pfizer said it was “confident” in its intellectual position.
