“AI has tremendous potential to transform and augment how physicians and providers practice medicine, make decisions and serve their patients. Yet, so far, we have barely scratched the surface of AI’s potential in healthcare,” said Cassidy in the announcement made earlier this week. “We started Lucem Health to accelerate integration of powerful AI-generated insights into care delivery workflows in a thoughtful, responsible way. In a challenging market for raising capital, we appreciate our investors’ confidence and support.”

Lucem has strong connections with Mayo Clinic beyond the funding. Notes Cassidy at the Lucem website: “Our team is excited to work with partners like Mayo Clinic Platform that share our vision for how technology innovation can transform care delivery and patient outcomes.”

Before founding Lucem, Cassidy served as CEO o Corepoint Health, which merged with Rhapsody Health (now Lyniate). He also has worked with several firms as an executive in healthcare roles, including Charlotte-based Premier.
