RALEIGH – Marshall Aerospace, a U.K.-based company focusing on military aircraft, will build a $33 million maintenance facility at the Piedmont Triad International Airport and hire more than 240 workers under an agreement struck with the North Carolina Department of Commerce on Tuesday.

The Economic Investment Committee of the Commerce Department approved nearly $4 million in state incentives for the project. Local incentives from the City of Greensboro and Guilford County add another $550,000.

The jobs will pay an average salary of $74,500.

Marshall Aerospace will build facilities capable of servicing up to 6 C-130 transport aircraft at a time and may expand in the future, according to the briefing given by a Commerce Department staff member to the EIC members.
