CHARLOTTE – Another 150 employees have been laid off at financial services firm LendingTree, according to a number of different media reports.

The cuts – reported last week – follow some 200 layoffs in an earlier round of cost cutting in 2022.

“After exploring all avenues to reduce expenses during this challenging macroenvironment, LendingTree’s management team made the difficult decision to conduct a reduction in force, impacting roughly 13% of employees across nearly all levels and departments,” a company spokesperson told the Charlotte Business Journal. “While the economy and interest rate environment are affecting the business in ways outside the company’s control, LendingTree is focused on areas that are within its control — expenses and strategic priorities — in order to put the company in a better position for future success.”

The staff reduction impacts about 150 employees, the majority of whom are based in Charlotte, a LendingTree spokesperson confirms. That’s after LendingTree eliminated about 200 jobs companywide in 2022, as previously reported by CBJ.
