RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – VinFast is delaying deliveries of its first vehicles that were already shipped to the US for customers, the Vietnam-based company said Friday.

Vinfast is building a huge manufacturing plant in Chatham County.

“The cars have been updated with the latest software. We are planning to hand over the first VF8 vehicle models to customers in the second half of February,” VinFast said in a statement, according to Reuters new service.

“The second batch will be shipped to the U.S. in the second quarter of 2023.”

The first batch of cars numbering nearly 1,000 was shipped from Vietnam in November.
