It’s earnings season and North Carolina-based public companies are posting earnings. Here’s the latest:

  • Qorvo

GREENSBORO – Qorvo Inc. (QRVO) reported a loss of $15.9 million in its fiscal third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Greensboro, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 16 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and restructuring costs, were 75 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 64 cents per share.

The chipmaker posted revenue of $743.3 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $727.2 million.

For the current quarter ending in March, Qorvo expects its per-share earnings to range from 10 cents to 15 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $600 million to $640 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

  • First Citizens

RALEIGH – First Citizens BancShares Inc. (FCNCA) reported fourth-quarter profit of $257 million.

The bank, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, said it had earnings of $16.67 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $20.94 per share.

The bank posted revenue of $1.47 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $1.23 billion, which topped Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.1 billion, or $67.40 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.08 billion.

  • Live Oak Bancshares

WILMINGTON – Live Oak Bancshares Inc. (LOB) reported fourth-quarter earnings of $1.8 million.

The bank, based in Wilmington, North Carolina, said it had earnings of 4 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 40 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $155.7 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $105 million, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $111.6 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $176.2 million, or $3.92 per share. Revenue was reported as $565.5 million.

  • Nucor

CHARLOTTE – Nucor Corp. (NUE) reported fourth-quarter profit of $1.26 billion.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it had net income of $4.89 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $4.18 per share.

The steel company posted revenue of $8.72 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.91 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $7.61 billion, or $28.79 per share. Revenue was reported as $41.51 billion.
