DURHAM – There’s new leadership at Durham-based Bell and Howell as the company’s CEO, Larry Blue, is retiring.  Now, the company has tapped Arthur Bergens from within its own executive suite to take the helm as president and chief executive officer.

Bergens, previously the chief operating officer, is following in Blue’s footsteps, so to speak.

Blue joined the company in 2014 as its chief operating officer and was appointed in December 2018 to the chief executive role.  Bergens also joined the company in 2014, and previously led the firm’s financial, operational, and M&A strategies.  He’s a two-time recipient of the Triangle Business Journal’s CFO of the Year award.

Now, Bergens will take the top spot and lead the company’s strategy “of delivering an innovative portfolio of comprehensive services and solutions that directly support customer successes,” according to a statement from the company.

“This leadership transition will continue to focus on Bell and Howell’s position as a leading provider of cutting-edge solutions that empower businesses to employ advanced services and technologies that support their strategies, grow operational efficiencies, and enhance the end customer experience,” the statement reads.
