RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Across the globe, the interest in building out the metaverse and in advancing autonomous vehicle design and production continues to remain high.  Visual intelligence company BrightView Technologies expects to capitalize on that by expanding to the United Kingdom, where it has opened a subsidiary firm.

And the new subsidiary, BrightView Technologies UK Ltd., will employ Mike Murphy as managing director of global markets.  In that role, Murphy will look to expand the company’s opportunities for product and commercial development in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region, the statement noted.

“Customers advancing global innovation in areas like autonomous vehicles need high performing visual and optical technologies combined with exceptional engineering design to support rapid iteration and accelerate time to market,” said Jennifer Aspell, CEO at BrightView Technologies, in the statement.  Murphy’s expertise, with more than three decades of international experience, “will position BrightView to deliver Visual Intelligence™ across a wide range of global customer segments,” said Aspell.

As the metaverse continues to develop, BrightView is positioned to capitalize, WRAL TechWire reported in December 2021.

BrightView manufactures micro lens array (MLA) technologies, which Aspell told WRAL TechWire “can manage optics in a variety of applications not limited to displays.”  The company also provides solutions for 3D sensing, including in the automotive sector, and in augmented and virtual reality.

‘Visual Intelligence’ for the metaverse: That’s aim for Triangle’s BrightView Technologies

The company launched in 2002, was acquired in 2010, was spun out as an independent company in 2021 with growth capital from Technology Venture Partners, and appeared for the first time on the 2021 Triangle Tweeners List for its growth trajectory.

At the end of 2021, Aspell told WRAL TechWire that the company was seeing increasing needs for its solutions and products, noting that the firm was involved in expansion its production capacity.

That included renewing for a new ten-year lease at its Triangle Business Center headquarters location, finalizing the design for a new production line, and planning for facility upgrades that were set to occur this year, in 2022.

“BrightView’s goal is to understand and anticipate the next generation’s market needs for Visual Intelligence and unlock the potential of tomorrow’s technology,” said Aspell in a Q&A with WRAL TechWire in December.  “We’re excited about the overall opportunities in front of the company,” said Aspell.
