CHAPEL HILL – Interested to learn what’s new in the Chatham business community? Looking for ways to network with other entrepreneurs, founders or enterprising service providers? Want to sharpen everyday professional skills for growing your business or brand? Innovate Carolina is partnering with 79º West – the new innovation hub and coworking space at Chatham Park – to provide a series of workshops that helps you do all of the above.

These workshops are free and open to anyone in the Chatham community. They’re hosted by Innovate Carolina, UNC-Chapel Hill’s central team for innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development, which will introduce you to practitioners and subject experts from the university and community partner organizations. Each 90-minute session will consist of a 30-minute lesson, 30-minutes of hands-on practice with experienced instructors, and 30-minutes of networking.

Anyone with early-stage ideas, young ventures, small businesses, or an interest in coworking or warehousing space is invited to sign up and stop by. Join us and jump into the fun of these networking and skill-building sessions.

Aug. 2: Innovation (+ Ice Cream) in Chatham County
Join this Q&A to explore the impact of innovation in Chatham County. Tour the new 79º West hub, learn about free entrepreneurial programs from Innovate Carolina, and enjoy a scoop of ice cream.

Aug. 17: The Power of a Pitch
Learn to craft a concise and effective elevator pitch about your business or venture. UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School professor Tim Flood will give you practical tips for hitting a home run.

Aug. 31: How to Tell Your Story Online: Tools and Tips
Learn how to tell your brand story. This interactive workshop is free to anyone who wants to explore the fundamentals of creating written and visual content for the digital world.

Sept. 14: Create a Marketing Plan for Your Venture
Target the right audience and learn to understand and expand your reach in this free, interactive workshop by Innovate Carolina and the Small Business and Technology Development Center.
