RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – If you choose a password that’s easy to remember and thus easy to crack you could be headed for a data breach via the Dark Web.
Data breaches soared to a record high 1,862 in 2021 – 68% higher than in 2020, according to Identity Theft Resource Center’s 2021 Annual Data Breach Report.
And data breaches account for 80% of leaked emails, adds Lookout, a provider of integrated Security, Privacy, and Identity Theft Protection solutions.
