RALEIGH – Hutchison PLLC has two new partners, Joshua M. Hayes and John S. Rudd.

According to the company, Hayes practices corporate law and advises entrepreneurs, startups, established companies and investors.  The firm notes that Hayes has a “wealth of experience in corporate, commercial and transactional matters, including early- and late-stage equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic joint ventures, spinouts, licensing and corporate governance.”  Before joining Hutchison, Hayes practiced in the Charlotte office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP where he represented a wide variety of regional and national companies in transactional, regulatory compliance and copyright and trademark matters.

“We are thrilled to welcome Josh and John to the partnership,” commented Bill Wofford, a member of the firm who currently leads the life sciences practice at Hutchison, in a statement. “These talented attorneys have already brought great value to our team and clients, and we look forward to their continued contributions as leaders in our firm.”

Rudd advises life sciences and technology companies at various stages of a company’s life cycle, typically acting as outside general counsel while working closely with founders, management teams and boards of directors. Prior to joining Hutchison, John was an associate in the mergers and acquisitions group of Jones Day’s Tokyo office.

“Josh and John have demonstrated excellence in their time with the firm and have earned the confidence of their peers and clients. We are delighted to announce their admission to the firm’s partnership,” noted Scott Bryant, one of the managing partners and marketing and business development lead for the firm, in the statement. “Their addition will strengthen and grow the future of our firm.”
