GREENSBORO – ADT Cybersecurity will close its operation before the end of 2022 and lay off the facility’s workforce as part of what the company describes as a “total closure.”

A total of 67 jobs will be affected, the company said in a layoff noticed filed with the state of North Carolina on Tuesday.

ADT acquired Greensboro-based Secure Designs in 2018 and made it part of ADT Cybersecurity. Secure Designs had 30 employees at the time, according to the Triad Business Journal.

The firm says the closure is “permanent.”

“We are writing to give you notice that there will be a total closure of the ADT Cybersecurity/SDI facility located at 301 North Elm Street, Suite 550 in Greensboro, North Carolina on December 31, 2022,” an executive for the firm wrote.

“The entire facility will be closed and all employees at the facility will be impacted. This closure is expected to be permanent. The expected date of the first separation will be March 25, 2022.”

The “separations” are to be “accomplished by December 31, 2022,” the exec wrote.
