RALEIGH – Raleigh-based air purification manufacturer Oransi will merge with Virgina-based motion control company Aviemore, and will open a new manufacturing facility in Radford, Virginia.

The firm also will be hiring as many as 101 new employees, according to a statement issued by Oransi.

“We are thrilled about the unique product development opportunities this merger will create,” said Oransi CEO Peter Mann.

Oransi plans to innovate and manufacture an air moving system in the company’s air purifier products, which the company sells directly to consumers and to businesses in the education, dental, healthcare, and hospitality industries, according to the statement.

Oransi was launched “as an engineer’s quest to find a better indoor air quality solution for his young asthmatic son,” according to the company, and is based in Raleigh.  Aviemore is based in Radford, where the manufacturing plant will be constructed.

“This merger is the perfect match for our proprietary and very unique motion control technology that will be utilized in this high-volume application,” said Moe Barani, CEO of Aviemore Technologies in the statement.

Oransi purchased the Radford, Va. manufacturing facility prior to the merger, according to a spokesperson for the company contacted by WRAL TechWire.  The company announced the project in April, and though a site in Mt. Airy, North Carolina was considered, according to Mann, the Radford location was selected by the company.

Oransi plans to invest $5.6 million in the facility, the company noted in a statement shared with WRAL TechWire.  At least $50,000 was provided to the company through a grant program in the state of Virginia, according to a statement.  Mann declined to comment on further details regarding the incentives the company may receive as a part of its decision to invest in Radford.

Terms of the merger between Oransi and Aviemore were not disclosed.
