RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Apple’s “App Tracking Transparency” iOS privacy tool unveiled Monday is a “nuclear option” for you to opt out of tracking, according to news site Recode. It will make Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg “really made,” reporter Sara Morrison writes.

“Buried three menus into iOS settings, there is an option to stop all apps from tracking you. You can also stop Apple from tracking you (yes, despite its new tool designed to stop tracking, Apple still tracks you for its own ad technology),” Morrison writes.

“While you can still be tracked in your iPhone’s web browser, turning off tracking now is a good way to push back against the influx of targeted ads that have taken over your life. It’s also a great way to start thinking about how you can take control of your digital privacy and make Mark Zuckerberg really mad.”
