GREENVILLE – A newly-formed economic development organization in Greenville officially launched recently. The Greenville – Eastern North Carolina (ENC) Alliance, a public private partnership, is focusing its mission on attracting new industry while expanding and retaining existing industry.

The organization’s Board of Directors announces the following individuals to the Greenville – ENC Alliance’s leadership team:

• Steve Weathers, President and CEO
• Uconda Dunn, Vice President of Business Development
• Brad Hufford, Vice President of Business Development
• David Horn, Director of Investor and Community Relations
• Maria Satira, Director of Marketing and Communications

Weathers has nearly three decades of experience in the business and economic development industries in various regions across the nation. He’s been involved in the attraction retention, growth, and start-up of more than 800 companies in Georgia, California, Arizona, Ohio, and New York.

The Vice Presidents of Business Development are experienced economic development professionals, both graduating from the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. Dunn has over 13 years of economic development experience throughout North Carolina and Virginia on state and regional levels. Hufford has extensive experience working for various economic development organizations at the local and state levels as well as several not-for-profit groups. He’s spent the majority of his 16-year career in the eastern North Carolina region.

Horn brings more than 25 years of knowledge in managing key account relationships and customer service initiatives on a local, state, and national level and has worked for some of the nation’s top broadcast, communications, and technical services companies.

Satira has over a decade of experience in multi-media, marketing, and communications. As a former journalist, working as a news anchor and reporter in several markets across the nation, she has experience in storytelling, public relations, and digital media.

The organization was conceptualized several years ago by community members and business leaders in the public and private sectors. With a vision to create a partnership focused on economic development, the organization aims to reinvigorate economic progress by bringing new capital investment and good-paying jobs to the Pitt County community. Through the hiring of its dynamic and knowledgeable leadership team, the Greenville – ENC Alliance has an opportunity to fuel the economy by attracting quality economic growth from domestic and foreign markets.

The Greenville – Eastern North Carolina Alliance was founded in 2019 as a public-private partnership for economic development across Pitt County, North Carolina. The group utilizes the expertise in the public and private sectors to secure new capital investment to enhance economic vitality. Program initiatives aim to recruit new business while expanding and retaining existing industries. The mission includes developing community assets, maximizing opportunities for investment, and enhancing the quality of life in the region.
