CHARLOTTE – A boom in demand for high-tech talent has lifted the Charlotte metropolitan area to No. 5 on the annual “Tech Town” list from the business trade group CompTIA.
More than 8,000 open jobs were posted around Charlotte in September, according to the NC Tech Association – a higher number than in tech-heavy Raleigh and in Durham-Chapel Hill. And that number was not an exception.
More than 80,000 tech-related jobs were posted over the past year, CompTIA notes.
But even better days are coming. The report projects an 8% increase in tech jobs over the next five years.
Raleigh placed third on the list.
Durham-Chapel Hill came in 13th.
